Barnabus. That's who the Larson's have been to me. For over a decade, both Gary and Melissa have worked tirelessly to not only equip me, but probably more importantly, to encourage me. Whether it's through FCA banquets, youth rallies, personal visits, or a simple text message...the Larson's are always trying to help and encourage others to draw nearer to Jesus. Personally, I relish Gary's 'Monday Morning Minutes.' I can't think of a better way to start my week off, than to read one of Gary's devotions, which seems to always speak personally to me and gives me strength to prepare for the spiritual battles that lie ahead. Thank you Gary and Melissa for your endless support and encouragement. May God bless you as you begin serving Him in this new ministry.

When I think of the word "agape," I think of Gary Larson! It has been an honor to know and be friends with Gary for many years. We actually graduated from the same High School! After a period of approximately 37 years, our paths crossed once again. We reconnected, through his wife Melissa, when we became fellow co-workers (small world)! Coincidence? Don't think so! I then reached out to Gary for a need in our church for some fill in preaching, and yes, he brought Melissa and Hope, one Sunday to help in filling our pulpit need. During this time, I learned of his involvement and service with the Southeast Kansas FCA and his love for doing God's work. This past summer we were blessed with their presence at our home witnessing the Baptisms of 7 amazing individuals (in our swimming pool), 4 of which were their family members. I have seen them constantly grow together in their faith and then the rest is history!! I feel it would be a testament of courage, service and persistence as they keep working together, promoting the love of Christ, while traveling on their new journey with GML Ministries!

I first met Gary and Melissa when I was helping a friend out at her FCA sports camp one summer. I could tell right away that they were people who loved Jesus! They were kind, loving and very eager to help kids see the love of Jesus through sports. I had just moved to Garnett and was teaching at the high school there. They didn't have FCA so I reached out to Gary, who was our area rep, in hopes he would help me start it. He was all about it. He was committed to helping me grow FCA there for the next 7 years of my time there. He gave us so much of his time, energy and resources to help the students (and myself) experience the love of Christ. I moved from Garnett in 2022 and started up FCA at the new school I would be teaching at. Although Gary is no longer my area rep, we still stay in touch and I know that if I or my students need anything he would be here. I'm thankful to know such selfless, compassionate, Jesus loving people.

My wife and I have been blessed to have been friends of Gary and Melissa for a very long time. We have witnessed so many good things that they have been a part of. As a high school coach, I have seen how they have taken the FCA to new heights all over the state. Reaching out to the youth and young people seems to be their specialty. The Lord lead them to start their own community church and it has grown from a few to a full house. Something about Gary is the way he speaks that still brings tears to my eyes every time and he has been a big reason. that I have grown closer to the Lord. I am so grateful for both of them.
